I’m not sure if you have realized it yet, but our world today is in some desperate need of love, which has been the main motivation for Oso Cali while sharing this poetry with the world. Oso Cali is a Bay Area native with roots reaching back to South America, parts of Europe and many other places in the world. This up and coming Spoken Word artist turned MC is coming out of Northern California with a strong message of Unity, Peace, and most importantly Love.
This beautiful and culturally diverse part of the world influences and shines through in his poetry and music, however it wasn’t always about these things for Oso Cali. It wasn’t until after graduating Sonoma State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, traveling through Central America, and then ending up back home in Sonoma County that he would write his first piece of poetry. With a sociological perspective on the world and the experiences of different cultures and connecting with different people from all over the world, Oso became inspired and wrote his first poem called ‘A veces yo no sé.’ It was a revolutionary piece in Spanish about the uncertainty of the current state of our world and where we are headed as a collective. To say the least that was the beginning of a long journey into the world of spoken word poetry, open mics, and eventually music for Oso Cali.
Fast forward around 3-4 years Oso’s debut EP ‘We Need Some Lovin’’ is almost ready to released, fusing reggae and hip-hop together seamlessly while conveying a message that the world desperately needs to hear! With the lack of love and connections in the world today, Oso Cali uses his words to convey ideas of a better world where we can learn from the lessons in our lives and come together as one big family in order to endure these testing times on the horizon. Unity is going to be the main concept that Oso Cali focuses on through his art and it is a message that is much needed in our world today. As of 2/28/2018 you can find Oso Cali’s debut EP ‘We Need Some Lovin’’ on Soundcloud, Spotify, Reverbnation, Itunes, along with many other digital media outlets.
